So I was going to get a 50mm f/1.8 lens for my birthday but that didn’t work out so I ordered it last week and it’s in Ann Arbor today! I’m really excited I think it’s one of the only birthday gifts I’ve gotten this year and its really late but HOLY COW AM I EXCITED. Also glad I don’t have work tomorrow so I can sit at home and wait for it to arrive like the child I am then open it up and try it out all day OH MAN IT’S LIKE CHRISTMAS IN MAY

So you know how there’s that post saying how people should invent birth control for men? (Take bullets out of a gun, not put on a bullet proof best) Well here it is. If some of you had actually researched it for like, 5mins, you would’ve actually found it.

To put it simply, the whole procedure takes about 15mins and lasts 10 years with a 100% success rate.

After an anesthetic, there’s an injection of some sperm-killing gel (Vasal Gel) into the male vas deferens. If the guy wants it reversed, he can get another shot which does that.

So, spread the word or something, but here it is.

How this post hasn’t gone viral by now is fucking beyond me.

Mother's Day

Today is Mother’s day, as most people have hopefully remembered, and it’ a day to appreciate all the people in our lives who have been mothers to us.

First, I have to recognize my mom for everything she’s done for me and been for me. She’s always done her best even when she takes on way too many things at once (trying to be supermom). Let me tell you, handling 2 babies, 2 teenagers, her job, and everything else that comes up is a lot. You’ve got to give it to her for that. She’s an awesome photographer, a great friend, and a wonderful mother.

My dad’s second wife and the mother of my two darling little brothers, Wendi, was very supportive and loving when we had our time together. She now lives with the love of her life and her family in a southern town like she’s always wanted, and I’m really glad she’s happy. She changed my life and led our family on a very unique path; I’d be lying if I said I didn’t appreciate that.

Tia, my stepmom, is one of the funniest people you’ll ever meet. Her life is pretty much a sitcom, she’s an awesome baker and cake decorator, and she and my dad are so happy together. She brought her two daughters into our now gigantic family, and I couldn’t appreciate the addition more. This wonderful woman and her fabulous girls bring so much life and love into our house (which helps the dog from feeling depressed when the rest of us are away).

There are a number of other women in my life who have been so caring and loving to me and my family:

Wendy, Zach’s Mom, has helped me in so many ways to find out what kind of person I want to be. She’s a magician in the kitchen, a great designer, a hard worker, and a wonderful mother to my roommate, best friend, and significant other, Zach.
Grandma Delo- she always wants the best for all of us, and I’ve learned so much from her wisdom and love
Gramma Debi – a scrapbooking, barbie and beanie baby collector, made my adolescent years the best – especially on holidays. Green eggs & ham on St patty’s day and many christmases have been made with her effort.
Nana Peggy – a sensible, old fashioned woman with a love for her many children, grandchildren, and black labradors who roam her kansas farm. The children and grandchildren also roam the whole world.
Ms. Carrie King, my high school art teacher, was consistently supportive and caring throughout the year I spent half my day in her classroom with my best friend at the time. Her daughter is so lucky to have her.
Holly Hughes, the wonderfully obscene performance artist and director of the interarts performance program at UM. is so grateful to be involved with the 18 of us students in the program, but she really downplays her own talent. She is a great role model – humble, caring, talented, crazy, and smart. We really do all love you, Holly.
